Data sharing

The 2018 CLPHA Health Strategic Planning Workshop, co-facilitated with Health Impact Project (a collaboration of Pew Charitable Trusts and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation) and Grantmakers in Health, convened over 35 communities across the country. Participating teams included internal PHA staff at member agencies who work on health-related initiatives as well as external partners that provide services, education, and other health resources for residents.

Increasingly, a wide range of entities—housers, educators, cities—are using data sharing to increase effectiveness across systems. Yet, many systems still do not want to engage in dating sharing or have encountered resistance. This roundtable not only discusses how partners made data sharing possible, but also looks to the future: how the process has gone since initial implementation, what partners have learned from their data sharing efforts, and next steps for the work.

We are pleased to share with you the following work product from the Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (CLPHA) as part of our Housing Is initiative, an effort to better intersect fields so they can more effectively help those they serve. This data sharing agreement template has been created in order to foster data sharing between housing and other sector organizations in order to improve efficiency, reduce duplication of efforts, and increase holistic care in order to improve educational and life outcomes for low-income children.
