This webinar introduces participants to Choice Neighborhoods, HUD's signature place-based program and discusses how it works with repositioning.
Choice Neighborhoods provides significant capital funding to reposition severely distressed public housing as part of a larger neighborhood revitalization effort. Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants provide up to $35 million to redevelop HUD-assisted housing into a mixed-income housing community, provide resident supportive services, and invest in physical neighborhood improvements. Planning grants of up to $450,000 are also awarded annually to support public housing agencies (PHAs) and partners in the creation of a comprehensive community Transformation Plan.
