Nearly 681,000 children under age 6 are estimated to be experiencing homelessness in the U.S., and new data show homelessness is increasing at a time when access to housing and early childhood development programs is decreasing.
Homelessness in early childhood can jeopardize healthy development, causing delays in language and learning. Participating in early childhood development programs like Head Start and Early Head Start is known to mitigate these negative developmental impacts.
During this webinar, participants will hear from a panel of experts leading work in Florida to increase the identification of young children experiencing homelessness and their enrollment into Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
Participants will leave with practical strategies to implement cross-agency collaboration in their own communities.
